Genoa ready to host the Marina Militare Nastro Rosa Veloce 2026

With the EMOEC Academies in Genoa now concluded, everything is ready to host a new and important chapter of the Marina Militare Nastro Rosa Tour 2026.

More than 20 international teams will compete in the qualifying races starting on 18 September, aiming to secure a place on the starting line of the Marina Militare Nastro Rosa Veloce 2026.

On 25 September, the non-stop race from Genoa to Trieste will get underway, with crews facing a challenge of more than 1,500 nautical miles in one of the longest and most fascinating offshore races in the Mediterranean.

The Race Village in Genoa

From 18 to 25 September, in the area in front of the GALATA Museo del Mare, at Calata Ansaldo De Mari, where the Figaro 3 boats taking part in the competition are moored, the Marina Militare Nastro Rosa Race Village will be open to the public.

A meeting point dedicated to sailing, the sea and maritime culture, featuring stands and activities by the Italian Navy, the Italian Sailing Federation, the Liguria Region, the Municipality of Genoa and Honda Marine.

The Race Village will be open every day from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm and from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

Activities at the Race Village

At the Italian Sailing Federation Algeco, visitors will have the opportunity to test their skills on a sailing simulator and, from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm, take part in the VELA S.T.E.A.M. programme, designed to explore sailing through science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics.

At the Italian Navy Algeco, an Information Point organised by the Italian Navy Hydrographic Institute will provide visitors with an opportunity to learn more about the Institute’s activities, career opportunities and professional profiles within the Italian Navy, as well as information on how to apply for recruitment competitions.

Discovering navigation

On 19, 20 and 25 September, visitors will also have the opportunity to attend nautical chartwork lessons, with practical sessions covering the use of navigation triangles and dividers, nautical and meteorological instruments, and the consultation of nautical documentation.

Topics will include nautical charts, Sailing Directions, Ephemerides, Lighthouses and Lights, Nautical Tables and other essential navigation resources.

An opportunity to discover the tools and skills at the heart of navigation and to experience the atmosphere of the Marina Militare Nastro Rosa Veloce 2026 up close, ahead of the great challenge from Genoa to Trieste.
